ED--that's really what i was wondering, and since i have only used 1 click on SS i didnt know the answer...does geo political news trump/win over back tested data driven solutions to the point where you can stop out and it will never achieve anticipated gains based upon prior price action? Or is geo political news a speed bump and you just need to hold through the storm. interesting question imo. but i know...it is sort of like asking 'will my wife act crazy today".

All these events have occurred in the past and are therefore built into the historical price data. Events occur every day, and are never truly anticipated by any system.

I agree with Kevin that a long enough backtest, that is not curve fitted has lots of negative and positive geo-political and other market impacts accounted for.
Clearly there could be future dips in XIV that will be greater than the current history, but think of how many of the 30 filters would be signaling successful buy signals after such an event, perhaps resulting in an upward move in XIV that also might be greater than any in current history....who knows, not I!

Markets are predetermined.
This Bull market is predetermined.

Same signals. System #35 triggered which has the highest average per day % gain and a 91% win rate.

Hi Guys, Maybe someone can help me with SS. Im having problems importing Vix pricing through ASII. Im trying to use this site, http://www.cboe.com/products/vix-index-volatility/vix-options-and-futures/vix-index/vix-historical-data using note pad saved to my desk top. Then I use file>price import> (using the ASCII format Kevin posted) then browse>this pc>desktop to import the signals. It gives me an invalid date found in file, price file not added. Any ideas on how I can import the prices. Thanks!

Lumbee364, I upgraded to Stratasearch version 4.5.41. It apparently has the fix for Google Finance. You wouldn't then need to do ASCII import.
