8/11/2010 6:06:00 PM E93 ... TLT is one of several ETFs in my "symlist" ... that are there to hopefully provide clues of overall Market sentiment ! It's a fairly new addition for me ... and I'm trying to implement it in determining an overall Market bias ! Do I fully understand it's movements and WHY ? Uhhh ... NO !!! --- Bonds are NOT my thang ! That said ... I did use TLT as a "tell" to GIT SHORT this Market ! FWIW ... I have remained SHORT TWM ... since 7/26 !!! Needless to say ... today was a good day ! --- Currently UP +15% on my TWM "SHORT" position !!! |

8/11/2010 8:52:40 PM The rally yesterday was perplexing.... the volume on the rally set me back a bit... but as it sold off I picked up some VXX and sold into the spike this am, I was fully expecting a bounce around RUT 625 to 620ish and a rally to the 200 ma on the 60min chart. or even better a back test of 640. So after the market closes I am reading the twitter feed and see cisco tanked and everything starts to tank TWM jumped so I look at VXX and its like not moving only up a dime so I bought a bit at 22.90 now its 23.50 so I am not so mad I sold early. I will go all in on a pullback to 640... if I have the guts...lol Great trading ALF I hope to someday have the patients and the fortitude to hang with a trade. |

8/13/2010 9:18:36 PM Nice Alf,,,, Did you go long EOD? I have some VXX from Thursdays pull back and bought a litte CEG at the open for long. Like the divergence on CEG and bouncing off the trend line. I was out all day so was not able to sell my VXX. |

8/13/2010 10:54:54 PM E93 ... didn't go LONG EOD ! That 1080 S&P Level looks like a place where we "may" bounce ... BUT ... I didn't want to think about LONG (or, SHORT for that matter) exposure over the weekend ! ALL the Major Index ETFs printed "Inside Days" today ! Clearly the Market is in a place of indecisiveness (if that's a word) ! We are coiled ... we could explode HIGHER ... or, LOWER from here ... indicative of Inside Days and Range Contraction ! fwiw I just didn't feel the need to try and be a hero here and decided to take copious profits ! I'll look for clues next week ... my bias is to be SHORT this Market ... but I will wait for my setup ! Regards, alf44 |
