8/11/2011 1:46:20 AM So ... here I sit LONG copious shares of triple leveraged ETF Financials ... aka. FAS ! What started as a "hedge" ... has now turned into a "bagholder position trade" ! sigh ... --- I wake up this morning (ie.Wed 8/10/2010) ... to rumors of Euro Banks teetering on the precipice ... ... top that with an early dose of Meredith Whitney on CNBC "Squawk Box" ... uhh ... well "squawkin' about "zombie banks" etc... and ... well ... the stage was set for a horrific day for the Markets (not to mention Financials and my dumb ass) ! --- YAWN !!! --- Ahhh ... did I mention CNBC trottin' out Robert Prechter ... espousing his Elliott Wave ... "end of the world" gloom and doom schtick ? --- Again ... YAWN !!! --- It was also revealed today that noted Hedge Fund Manager John Paulson (who was LONG BAC and other Financials) was DOWN over 31% in his Fund ... uhhh ... YTD ! So ... the smartest guys in the room are hurtin' ... waaay ... more than I am !!! Small solace !!! --- This is uncomfortable ! This blows!!! We shall see !!! |

John Paulson (the guy I referred to) has a net worth of over $16 Billion ----- ... he is #39 on "The Forbes World's Wealthiest List" ... he correctly called the "Mortgage Meltdown" (well in advance) and banked over $4 Billion ... he then reversed and correctly called the "recovery" (well in advance) and banked another $5 Billion ----- How'd YOU do during that period "Avery" ? LOL Uh Huh !!! I'd say that if he's NOT the "smartest guy in the room" ... he's at least in the conversation ! Clown !!! Whatever !!! |
