First I feel that it is very sporting of you to show your appreciation to TRO.
I am trying to understand your use of the filter and how you chose BRCD and KRY to short using the filter. It took me awhile to understand RSI(2) so maybe I am a bit slow.

Thanks, it is good sport.
I chose BRCD and KRY based on the filter in this post, set for 1 day ago (Friday).
This is essentially the Next NTRI filter that I adjusted to be over $5 due to my broker limitation.
The trades went this way....
1) Review of the charts before market open.
2) All tickers loaded up in the trading platform and sorted by RSVAL (RSI(2)).
3) TRADE.
I waited a short time after the market opened to see what tickers were going to breakdown.
Another thing that I do is scale in and scale out. On both BRCD and KRY I sold short -2000 shares in each. After a short (no pun intended) while if I believe the trade is going my way, I'll sell short again. In this case, another -2000 shares for each for a total -4000 each position size.
I'll scale in and out on LONGS as well.
I do have losers, like anyone else. Like my post on Friday/Saturday.
LOUD was a loser and I just cut it.

I also have to mention that I decided to SHORT today due to the general market conditions on Friday. BRCD and KRY were the only stocks I played today, decidedly short.
If one looks at my trading platform screen shot posted on Saturday, it's apparent in several places that I am "trying" to go long or short based on what way the general market is moving.
Just trying to improve probabilities.

Congrats stocktrader. Your'e a generous person. There was a thread "watchlist or anything that moves?" I am interested if you were always in this small watchlist group or was this thread a beginning to a change of methods?
I think it is interesting (for me anyway) to see what stocks this screen might have turned up; 12/01/2004 through 5/01/05. This time period was the last relatively steep downturn of qqqq's. By, using this "next ntri" criteria and Cegis' backtest trick it is clear that even during this 100 day period a good 20 or so "movers" could be found and traded. At least by you that is !

rtucker,
Thanks, but I was not part of that thread/group.
I see many good plays in your filter. Really got me excited to see some of them. You're right, many movers.
One reason I like the Next NTRI filter is that it has "movers" as you said.
I call this my popcorn filter. A group of stocks (Little kernals of corn) that are heating up and pop. Every day if I can get one or two that pop, this is good. For me trading is a function of time. In the past, I've been a long term holder of stocks (1+ year hold) just find out that I get 20% gain on the portfolio for the year. Although 20% is good in terms of banks, etc.....it always could be better :)
Watching OLAB today for a potential short.......pretty scary!

Hello all new here to the forum just was wondering is there a good filter here the would indicate stocks that would be good for shorting. If the trends filter is it what do we look for in the filter that would indicate a particular stock would be good to short.

Welcome.
The Next NTRI filter will work. Watch the WARM display.
Shorted LNUX today, which is in the filter.
Done for the day with a measly $650, in a bloody market yet.
