That STOP really *'d me up.
DON'T use stops people!
The algos are programmed to stop you out so someone else can buy your shares at a lower price.

@karen, I understand that you are frustrated. I have also been stopped out many times, but I am too nervous about taking a very large loss without a stop in place. I will try to use a mental stop when I can watch the screen, but that is not always possible.
Does anyone have any ideas other than reducing my position size? Unfortunately smaller risk also means smaller gains.

Look at the charts ...
Go back to the stocks you were stopped out of and see if they bounced.
Stops are a scam.
I'll never use them again.
You can set alerts on your phone and use those instead.

Just an FYI ...
After wasting my time being pissed off about being stopped out ...
The PUT I was too angry to buy @ $198 on Wednesday is now $4K.
===============================
$198 returned $4K!
Definitely worth it!

A lot of my stopped out stocks did bounce. Only a few did not bounce.
I like your " use alerts" idea very much. I will use alerts going forward. Thanks a lot.
