The other sad thing is being "old" ....
When you're past 70, the gov't requires that you WITHDRAW funds from your 401K.

Not sure what your point is, but I've never "traded" the S&P index.
However, I'm fully aware of what an SP chart looks like.
I think I've also made it clear, that for some people, a buy & hold strategy is superior to trading.
My guess is, that's why "FOUR" isn't here anymore.
For some peeps, it's easier to B&H and ride the wave.
Frankly, as a retiree, I've found trading to be tedious and too much work.

logic, karen, the s and p index is the mean of the stock market, matter of fact, trump quotes it all the time,
trump merely had the good fortune to get in at the right time, the incline and the chart of the s and p show
a great economy for the years Obama was in. trump is merely continuing on.....

About VIX
I still don't know anything about options, so I'm just passing this info to you.
A while ago, a VIX quant disclosed that when VIX is below 10, the mass of
either put or call option holders will have to act because what they hold
soon become worthless. That;s why VIX cannot stay below 10 for long.
(However, that info was before the exchange had to admit that VIX can be
easily manipulated by the pros.)
